Artistic Origins

 Alex Quarters is a 26 year old artist living in Brooklyn, NY. She grew up in Atlanta, GA and is proud to be a 2020 graduate of Georgia State University with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Marketing. She has been passionate about art since a child and has developed her talents through years of drawing. Alex received much of her art education through YouTube videos, and the classes offered to her throughout high school. Her favorite mediums include ink, acrylic and watercolor paints, and pen. 
 

The subjects of the paintings resemble the artist, since one's own face is the most readily available reference. Every work can be interpreted as a captured fragment of the artist herself. Alex frequently grabs inspiration from horror movies, religious imagery, and her personal clothing style. Her art is used as a way to express the emotions that can not easily be communicated. Some feelings run deeper than words, and paintings can be more vulnerable than our words will allow us to be.
 

Alex makes all the artwork featured on this website. Depending on the size, each project can take a few days to weeks to complete. She also produces and ships prints herself.
